I turned 60 this July..

Remember 40 being a total wipeout, wrong people, wrong life...50 was good, right people around, Loch Ness, Edinburgh Tattoo and a lovely Indian with friends :)

So, what was going to make my 60th different for me.  I had set a few rules, A) No party...B) no SURPRISE party...😀

Luckily Suzie took the hint and sent me off to London for a couple of days furlough:)

Had a great time, spent me birthday evening walking along the Thames Path (South Side), past Brunel's Tunnel, Pepys Deptford et al ( I do love a good diary 😀 ) and on to Greenwich, via a couple of ale houses...

Next day it was The Globe and Taming of The Shrew and a bit of Baroque By Candleight at St Martin in the Fields..pics here on Facebook

St Pauls & Boswell...

Just been re-reading some of my rambling on here - came across this one http://lendal.blogspot.co.uk/2006/10/plans-plans-plans.html
particulary the bits about James Boswell.  Went for another wander on Thursday & in The National Portrait Gallerey found the man himself...

Looked deep in his eyes and told him I KNOW him now - I'm up to 1778-1782, when his father dies & he becomes the Laird of Auchinlek...he really was a bastard to his wife and kids (not in a harsh brutal way - just lack of contact)...prostitutes... alcoholism...a father who patently is more than dissatisfied with his offspring...BUT he does recognise this...to quote
"It is unpleasing to observe how imperfect a picture of my life this journal presents. Yet I have certainly much more of myself  thus preserved than most people have."

My fave coffee spot in Leicester Sq...

A set of steps near the Thames...when they were built there was water at the bottom of them!!

They're next to one of the Temples...
