Holidays Whitby 2011…Sunday.

Sunday 7th

Had a good day  - kippers for breakfast….

Birdies for company – they were funny, Suzie chucked some bread out for them and they were rushing out of the hedge, picking up a piece and rushing back…then later on we some lady blackbird going back into the hedge and appearing with bits of saved bread!!

We had dinner over at Jen’s – complete with very excitable doggies who wore us out just watching them  - they ( and us) will try to get tired walking up Rosemary Topping today ( not sure who’s idea it was – but we’re going !!)

Suzie and me left Jen’s with the intention of going down the pier – but somehow ended up at Staithes…who stole the railway line…

Used to be a steel bridge going from this stone parapet!!

Sea looks smooth…

Monday 8th August

Well knackered We went here…

came back down again….

Holidays - Whitby August 2011 :)

Sunday 7th.

Suzie asked me last night if I was happy – my answer was simple – We’re in Whitby, We have fresh local kippers for breakfast and our view is the North York Moors…Happy – I should coco

We abandoned Chesham around 6:30 ish, had a great run right up till we hit York and stopped… as you expect on a holiday weekend, but arrived at Serenity Camping and Touring Site around 12:30 ish. It’s called serenity because that’s what they aim for…here’s our tent…

This place has context with my dad – one of his youthful fishing haunts.

In fact all around us is littered with places that touch upon my dad and his life with his family growing up; mother’s and him starting out as a courting couple and then married  life …

Walked around Hinderwell (where we are…) last night..

Catch up time…..

Last day of term on Friday.  We’re (staff) in the pub, parents are in the park…and this happens…  Thinking of all the children & adults involved, especially the Martin family.

On a happier note – went to watch AFC Wimbledon v Watford pre season game on Saturday – a cracking peter day out.  A couple of ales there, then train back to Waterloo and a wander to Liverpool St via a lovely quiet City…
