So, what's been happening in the Fazey-Wood household 2011 so far?

Well, we had a cracking Christmas in Portland with the brood....

Santa sent Suzie a new hat :)

Then a quiet (if depressive couple of months in the grey of Feb - March...) we did some walking...

Brookmans Park...

and around the evocative Hormead Church


and SPRING arrived and Easter.... which means CAMPING at Westfleet in the Fazey-Wood household...

....and there was the new arrival :)

Next....Whitsun !!

Fat and getting olderrrrrr…..

Problem

Here I am, nearing 55 and coming to the end of a depressed, overeating, overindulging winter….

E.G. I’m a tad ‘overweight’

ALSO – there’s a distinct possibility I might have to teach PE to lots of energetic and enthusiastic young children at school from the Autumn term…LIKE THIS errrr noway hozay….

Solution

Well, obvious really – lose weight and get fit…

SO – as of today I’ve embarked on a ‘regime’…AND given myself an incentive of a holiday

The intention is to get one of these…

across the water to here …

and run in the 10k ‘fun run’ in August …

( oh and visit Tiree as well)

Sunday into Monday…

After the non-events of Saturday (mind you the Chinese and chillaxed evening were perfectly fine), made my way over Mother’s in Chesham to find … SNOW!!

Mind you, Mother looks fine (if you ignore the sciatica )

Decided to get back into gear and keep a running blog this Yule season (and if I really get going to keep this up to date and move away from Facebook….)

So (what a limp way to start!!), what’s happened so far?

RELAXED start to the season

Friday 17th

Had a relaxed evening with fellow badders people – long time friends for Suzie; big part of her life.

Saturday 18th

Peter was supposed to :

a) Watch Watford play Preston North End in the afternoon,

b) Then wander off to Luton for school christmas bash…

Suzie was supposed to go to St Stephen’s for the last dance bash before christmas ….

BUT

it snowed

So the world came to a stop….

Big Birds

I grew up, in the main, around Chesham chasing dragonflies and seeing nothing bigger flying around than rooks & crows...Now there's these beautiful things....

The REALLY great news is that they appear to have found their way to us in Bengeo as well - saw THREE wandering overhead yesterday...cool :)
